• Elisha was the prophet who took over from the prophet Elijah. Elisha wore Elijah’s cloak as proof he was God’s choice to replace Elijah.

  • The student prophets showed Elisha a spot near the Jordan River where they wanted to build a new house for themselves.

  • They got to work with their axes cutting down trees.

  • Suddenly, one student's ax head flew off the handle and into the Jordan River.

  • "Oh, no!" said the student to Prophet Elisha. "That ax head wasn't mine. I borrowed it!"

  • Prophet Elisha cut down a stick and threw it into the river where the young man's ax head fell.

  • The ax head floated to the top of the river, so the young man could see it again.

  • The young man retrieved the ax head and thanked God.
